Watershed Weekly on KHNS

Public radio plays a much larger role in Alaska than elsewhere in the nation, for many communities it is the only radio available. TWC and TIWC make use of this vital community resource through the innovative radio program Watershed Weekly. The show builds environmental awareness by connecting people with where they live and the impact they have on the natural world every day.

Aired on the voice of Haines, KHNS, Watershed Weekly highlights important topics in our local southeast Alaskan watersheds: ecology and the watershed concept; environmental issues; implications of actions and solutions to problems; and ways that people can help restore and maintain local streams and rivers, native flora and fauna, and high water quality. In just four minutes, each show tells a memorable story crafted to encourage thoughtful participation in protection of watershed resources.
